EFHI Interpretation
The Ecoregion Fish Habitat Index (EFHI) predicts a FIBI score based on physical habitat characteristics and the ecoregion where the site is located. The EFHI Interpretation is the difference between the Fish Index of Biotic Integry FIBI score and the EFHI score.
| Difference > 18 | Favorable water quality and/or other environmental factors besides physical habitat are very likely to contribute to the observed FIBI score exceeding the predicted FIBI score. |
| Difference <= 18 but >=9 | Favorable water quality and/or other environmental factors besides physical habitat are somewhat likely to contribute to the observed FIBI score exceeding the predicted FIBI score. |
| Difference <=8 but >= -5 | The observed FIBI score is roughly equivalent to the predicted FIBI score and within expectations based on physical habitat characteristics and ecoregion. |
| Difference >= -12 but <=-6 | Adverse water quality and/or other environmental factors besides physical habitat are somewhat likely to contribute to the predicted FIBI score exceeding the observed FIBI score. |
| Difference < -12 | Adverse water quality and/or other environmental factors besides physical habitat are very likely to contribute to the predicted FIBI score exceeding the observed FIBI score. |
